PAV Jankov vršok reveals its history

It all started in 1974. At that time, with the help of Zväzarm and with the great support of Tatra Bánovce nad Bebravou, it was possible to organize the first race on the track between the village of Uhrovec and Jankov vršok. However, after several years, the end of Zväzarm came and with it the end of the race.

In 1993, however, there was a group of enthusiasts who managed to revive the race on the local beautiful track. At first it was the "last refueling"

under the banner of the Rescue System Slovakia Bánovce nad Bebravou. After some time, this organizer changed its name to today's Association of Technical and Sports Activities Motorsport Bánovce nad Bebravou, and has been organizing races of this modern era for thirty years.

In the following season, i.e. in 1994, car races up the hill were included in the official calendar. Twenty-six drivers took to the start, among which the fastest was Jozef Studenič on a Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V. It is also interesting that until 1998 only one race was held on Jankov Vŕšok. Starting in 1999, the organizer Motorsport Bánovce nad Bebravou organizes two races every year. In addition, in 2007, 2008 and 2009 , the people of Bánov organized two races in one season.

In 2003 and 2004, in addition to the Slovak championships, there were also the Czech championships, and since 2003, apart from 2008, the Polish championships have also been held in Uhrovec. In addition, the uphill car race on Jankov Vŕšok has been included in the FIA Central European Zone, while drivers will fight for points in the upcoming races as well in this series.

As for track records, since 2013 the fastest driver on the local track has been Jaroslav Krajči with a time of 1:43.451 min, which he achieved on the formula Lola B02/50. In the case of so-called tin vehicles, the record holder is Věroslav Cvrček from 2019 and his value is 1:48.072 minutes.

In the 2023 season, the race will start under the name AUTOPOLA Jankov vršok 2023 in 4. - 6.8.2023. Who will become their absolute winner is still a mystery to all of us today. One thing is for sure, you can find out all the current information on the organizer's website www.jvrsok.sk .
